LCC Celebrates 62nd Foundation Anniversary

It is indeed a Lipeño legacy. Lipa City Colleges, since its establishment in 1947, has continuously provided affordable quality education not only to the Lipenos, but even to young individuals from neighboring towns. Its founder, Dr. Ricardo Bonilla, has truly made a mark in the field of education with the unremitting development of LCC making it a premiere educational institution in the Calabarzon region.

Last November 19 and 20 was marked by the whole LCC community as the celebration of LCC’s 62nd Foundation Anniversary anchored on the theme “Reaping Success in the Midst of Excellence”. Student activities catapulted the day one celebration as students from both high school and college departments showcased their “Nobody” hit dance moves. The high school students also did a field demonstration. The main highlight of the first day celebration is the dance concert of STEPS, the official dance group of LCC, which proceeds benefited the institutional scholarship program of the school. The second day was solely dedicated for the fun and enjoyment of the employees, with cluster departments showcasing their unbeatable dance production numbers. Cash prizes were in store for those departments who would be adjudged with the best performances. The College of Education and Liberal Arts bagged the first place with their dance medley of the 80’s and 90’s, and the wacky “patola” dance rendition. The College of Nursing did ala-Beyonce which made the judges decide to give them the second place award. Hitching the third place was Guidance Office and Health Services who made the crowd go wild with its rendition of belly dancing.

An award convocation was also held to give recognition to both teaching and non-teaching employees who have show excellent performances in their years of service to LCC. Dr. Diosdada Boiser, Vice President for Academic Affairs, has delivered an inspiring message which all the more motivates the other awardees, and whole LCC community, to work harder and be of outstanding service to the school.
