CBEA Dean Takes ACPAE Board of Director Seat
Mr. Nilo M. Burgos, Dean of the LCC-College of Business Education and Accountancy (CBEA) Department, was elected as one of the National Board of Directors of the Association of Certified Public Accountants in Education (ACPAE) during the celebration of its 18th Accounting Teachers’ Conference held on April 19-21, 2010 at General Santos City, South Cotabato. The said conference was participated by the different colleges and universities in the Philippines wherein there were more or less 20 contenders who aspired for the position he has grabbed. This achievement is a strong indication that it is not only the students who bring home the bacon but as well as the people who make valuable contributions for the institution’s success and recognition.
Mr. Burgos, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) has been in his position as Dean of the CBEA Department for almost 11 years. He has been very active in the different organizations such as the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB), Council of Deans and Educator’s in Region IV-A (CODEB IV-A), Association of Management Educators (AME) and Philippine Association of Collegiate Schools in Business (PACSB). He was also recognized as the “2008 PICPA Young Achiever Awardee in Education by PICPA – National. Through his dedication and hard work combined with his undeniable knowledge and skills he has acquired through attending various seminars, conferences and conventions, Mr. Burgos is now the great man behind the CBEA Department’s numerous achievements which brought laurels to the institution and made the department to be recognized as the “Home of the CALABARZON’s Competent Business Leaders”.
