Dr. Inigo graces 2nd Business Forum, Testimonial Dinner for new CPAs

The College of Business Education and Accountancy held its 2nd Business Forum and Testimonial Dinner for new CPAs on December 17, 2023 at the College Gymnasium with Dr. Conrado Inigo, Jr. as Guest Speaker.

Dr. Inigo focused on Total Quality Management where he reiterated that on things to be done by students, TQM must always be employed. He also discussed why the Philippines lagged behind other countries in Asia and the rest of the world.

Later, the new CPAs gave their testimonies to inspire future accountants and professionals. They reminded the students that prayer is the most effective tool in attaining what you wanted in life.

The activity was spearheaded by Mr. Nilo Burgos, CBEA Chairman and was supported by different CBEA student organizations. It was attended by almost 500 CBEA students.


CBEA PRISAA players settle for Silver Medals

CBEA varsity players settled for silver medals in the Private School Athletic Association (PRISAA) Cluster III held at Lyceum of the Philippine University- Batangas on November 29, 30 and December 1, 2008.

Michelle Arellano, BSBA FM I, was out-pointed by the Lyceum player in the Single 2 Championship Game, 4 sets vs. 1 set. Nhelet Liwag (BSA II), Gretchen Awatin (BSHM III) and Krizza Hosmillo (BSHM I) joined Arellano in settling for the Second Overall in the women�s team competition on Table Tennis.

Christine Bathan (BSCBM III) with her teammate was outsmarted by De la Salle Lipa players in the Championship Game in Doubles Competition, 21-19. The Badminton Team settled Second Overall behind De la Salle Lipa.

Rhea Bacayawa (BSA-IV) won dual silver in relay (4 x 200m and 4 x 400m). Athletics team ranked Second Overall with Lyceum of the Philippines University as the eventual champion.

Table Tennis, Badminton and Athletics Teams were steered by Mr. Dennis Yapbuan, Ms. Edna Bulaklak and Mr. Jun Umali respectively.


LCC Team captures Regional Biz Plan tilt

The CBEA students won the Gold Medal in the Regional Business Plan Competition � Food Category held at Colegio de San Agustin, Laguna on November 28, 2008.

The team was captained by Corina Fabellon and supported by Venus Maldonado, Marlon Manalo, Noraisa Dilabayan and Leobert Garcia. The business proposal was named �PIZZA SPAGO.� It is considered unique by judges from Council of Deans and Educators in Business IV-A (CODEB IV-A) since pizza and spaghetti are combined and packed with melted cheese and unlimited toppings. LCC Team bested participants from 15 different colleges and universities in the region. The team was coached by Mr. Dennis L. Yapbuan.

Meanwhile, marketing students led by Katherine Balangawan (BSBA MM I), was given a Special Award in Marketing Plan Competition. Part of the plan was to introduce effective and efficient marketing strategies for Pizza Spago.

The team was assisted by Ms. Shiela Escartin and Mrs. Ruciel Casanova.


LCC soars high at 75 per cent CPA Board result

Lipa City Colleges climbed to the top when it became the number one Accountancy school in Batangas Province and 2nd in the Region in the recent result of the October 2008 CPA Board Examination.

The college got 75 per cent passing rate versus the national passing percentage of 37 per cent. Five out of nine examinees graduated cum laude, they are Rosalie Balhag, Jenilyn Endaya, Mhay Madlangbayan, Susan Ramos and Cecilia de la Pena. Other passers were Donna Jane Barbosa, Joy Nieva, Joann Remo and Herbert Lanip.

The oath taking for new CPAs will be on November 24, 2008.


CBEA holds Business Forum, recognizes new CPA

The CBEA Department holds its Annual Business Forum on August 2, 2024 at the College Gymnasium with Mr. Ronald S. Alvarez, PICPA Lipa President, as its Guest of Honor.

CBEA paddlers capture overall table tennis tilt, takes Second of Over-all Crown

The CBEA Team ended its rally in the LCCLYMPICS 2008 by taking the Second Place in the Overall Champion next to Nursing Department. It relied heavily on Individual Competitions where Table Tennis Team captures the over-all crown in Table Tennis Competition by winning four Gold Medals in the Single Events of Men and Women Divisions, while Badminton and Volleyball snared gold in their division on July 24-26.

Rex Mendoza (BSCFM IV) started the golden haul by defeating Renz Reyes (BSHM I) with the scores 6-11, 11-4, 11-8 and 11-7. It was followed by Melvin de la Pena (BSCBM III) by subduing the gallant stand of James Bileno (AHSE II) at 11-5, 11-8, 12-14, 11-8, 4-11 and 11-2. Rhina Sabaybay (BSCBM IV) outpointed Mary Myca Esmedilla (AHSE I) with 11-3, 11-1 and 11-3 while Michelle Arellano outclassed Rose Ann Suarez (AHRM II) at a scores of 11-1, 11-4 and 11-4. The duo of Julius Resaba and Alvin Fajanilan settled for Bronze Medal after succumbing to the attacking power of Raniel Marasigan and Nikki Jeremy Reyes (BSHM).

Meanwhile, the volleyball team steered by Norman Louie de Castro and Curen del Rosario captured the first ever Gold Medal by beating the defending champion, Nursing Department, 25-21 and 25-15.

In badminton, Christine Bathan (BSCBM III) captured her first Gold Medal in Single 2 event by defeating Myca Dizon of Education Department, 21-14. The duo of Nenita Sambayan and Darlin Nicolas (BSBA I) ended with a Silver Medal in Doubles Competition after a nail-biting loss to Nursing Players, 21-20. Immanuel Lacorte (BSA I) settled for Bronze in Single 1- (Men) Event.

Basketball team captained by John Paul Lalog settled for Silver when it was clobbered by the Criminology in the Championship. Women Team led by Maria Estela Mariquit also settled for Silver after suffering the same fate at the hands of the eventual champion, Criminology.


CBEA CHAIR, FORMER DEAN GET NATIONAL AWARD

Mr. Nilo M. Burgos, CBEA Chairman, was given the 2008 PICPA National Young Achiever in Education Awardee while Dr. Rufo R. Mendoza was honored for his accomplishment in Professional Development on May 1, 2024 at the Baguio Convention Center.

Prior to the award, Burgos was also recognized for his accomplishment by his colleagues in Lipa City and Southern Luzon in 2002. He served also as the PICPA Lipa President when it bagged the Runner-up in Most Outstanding Local Chapter- National Level in 2001. He is an Accountancy graduate in 1996 from Lipa City Colleges

Meanwhile, Dr. Mendoza is a multi-awarded accountant and most sought after educator and resource speaker. He served as the Dean of Accountancy before working as City Accountant during the term of Mayor Vilma Santos Recto. Presently, he is a member of the Board of Accountancy and also connected with Ateneo de Manila Graduate School. He finished his Masteral and Doctoral Degree from UP Los Banos with flying colors.
