With the theme �LCC at 60: A Dynamic Community Moving Towards Excellence,� Lipa City Colleges held its 61st Commencement Ceremonies last March 30 at the Gymnasium. The event consisted of three Graduation Rites- for the Two-year Programs, the High School Department (Day and Night Sessions), and the Four-year Programs.

The Graduation Exercises for the Two-year Programs took place first with Honorable Senator Manuel A. Roxas II acting as Guest of Honor. Addressing a total of 454 graduates of Associate in Health Science Education, Associate in Computer Secretarial, Associate in Computer Technology, and Certificate in Computer and Networking Technology, Sen. Roxas congratulated both the graduates and their parents for having accomplished such a feat of acquiring education which he called as the great equalizer and the one that would enable this country to never lose track of its path to greatness.

With Mrs. Minda S. Castillo, Division Supervisor I, DepEd Batangas Province as Speaker, the Program for the High School Department came in next. Apart from the address delivered by Mrs. Castillo, the salutatory address and the valediction delivered byJohn Kurt Laya and Glenn Latag respectively as well as the Tribute to Parents served as highlights of the affair that saw 204 finishing their secondary education.

Capping off the day-long event was the Commencement Program of the Four-year courses. Acting as Keynote Speaker was Honorable Senator Loren B. Legarda. In her speech, Senator Legarda emphasized the importance of DREAMS, an acronym that meant Discipline, Responsibility, Energy, Action, Mission, and Service, not only in achieving personal success but in contributing to national progress as well. She likewise bestowed medals of excellence to honor graduates and turn over seedlings to Ms. Marjorie M. Abiera, Vice President for Finance and Internal Affairs, as symbol of commitment to her environmental advocacy via her Luntiang Pilipinas Project. Apart from turning in a total of 574 graduates for Master of Arts in Education, Secondary and Elementary Education, Nursing, Accountancy, Commerce, Computer Science, Hospitality Management, and Criminology, the graduation also saw 15 students finishing off as Cum Laude and 2 students namely, Mark Laurence L. Coro from the College of Computer Studies and Princess D. Pusag from the College of Education given honors as Magna Cum Laude. Employee Service Awards were also given to Ms. Ruciel D. Casanova and Ms. Eva Soriano, for being with the institution both for 10 years and to Mr. Benito B. Manalo, for rendering 20 years of committed work.

Present during all three programs were the Board of Trustees headed by the School President, Mr. Carlos R. Mojares as well as the entire academic community. Ariel Abel acted as Master of Ceremony for the High School�s Graduation Exercises while Mr. Eric S. Masupil and Ms. Gerlie F. Katimbang anchored the rites for both the Two-year and Four-year Programs.
