LCC Ups its Ante via Accreditation

Staying true to its mission of providing quality education for the region, LCC underwent an Accreditation Visit for Level 1 Status under the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) last November 17-18.

The Departments that were evaluated in the areas of instruction, faculty, and laboratories were the following: Accountancy, Criminology, Hospitality Management, and Nursing. Meanwhile, institutional concerns such as purposes and objectives, organization and administration, physical plant and facilities, library, student personnel services, and social orientation and community involvement were likewise examined.

The PACUCOA Team of Accreditors was headed by Dr. Esther Vedania from the University of Luzon and included Ms. Eleanor Sibug (University of Sto. Tomas), Dr. Benjamin Mangusan (University of Cordillera), Dr. Jay Cabrera (Far Eastern University), Ma. Teresa Anies (University of Regina Carmeli), Choneta Valerio (University of Perpetual Help), Engr. Ronald La Torre, and Dante Almazan (Arellano University) as members.

As of press time, LCC awaits the result of the visit and hopes that all four departments shall each be awarded Level 1 status a clear proof that the institution offers programs that are way above set standards. It must be noted that three years ago, the Colleges of Business Education, Computer Studies, and Education have already been awarded Level 1 Status and are currently preparing for a Level 2 visit while the High School Department is already Level 2-accredited.
